Susan Miner of Carpenter Moore will join the firm as a senior director in its corporate and executive protection practice

Woodruff-Sawyer, a California-based independent insurance brokerage firm, and Carpenter Moore Insurance Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The NASDAQ OMX Group, have announced that Woodruff-Sawyer has acquired the Western region direct practice of Carpenter Moore from NASDAQ OMX.

Reportedly, the Western region direct practice, based in San Francisco, encompasses its established directors and officers insurance business with more than 60 clients based primarily on the west coast. However, the combination of Woodruff-Sawyer and the Western region practice does not include Carpenter Moore’s Eastern region practice, based in New York.

As part of the transaction, Susan Miner, vice chairman of Carpenter Moore, will join the firm as a senior director in its corporate and executive protection practice. Ms. Miner, an executive liability expert and a 20-year industry veteran, will reunite with former Carpenter Moore executives Lauri Floresca and Norman Allen, who joined Woodruff-Sawyer last month.

Doug Morton, chairman of Woodruff-Sawyer, said: “We are bringing together some of the most highly regarded leaders in the executive liability industry, with teams known for their client advocacy, international expertise and data-intensive approach. With this combination, we can offer clients deeper expertise and expanded service offerings. We are delighted to be working with Susan Miner, a highly regarded executive and a trusted adviser to numerous Fortune 250 companies.”
