Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA, part of Wells Fargo, has hired Linda Need as new managing director for its life insurance division.

In this new role, Need will be responsible for building a company wide life insurance platform to increase growth across all of the company’s distribution channels, including Wells Fargo Wealth Management, Wells Fargo Financial Advisors and its Personal Insurance Center.

Prior to Wells Fargo, Need spent eight years at Bank of America as senior vice president for its wealth and investment management group, where most recently she was the lead representative for its brokers and brokerage clients during the Merrill Lynch integration.

During her 30 years in the industry, Need also served as national sales manager at Morgan Stanley where she led a multi-billion dollar business distributing estate planning, life insurance and annuity sales distribution through the company’s 13,000 financial advisors, as well as in various actuarial, product and sales positions at Allstate, Tillinghast and Northwestern Mutual.

Wells Fargo Insurance Services president and CEO Neal Aton said Need will be tasked with expansion of Wells Fargo’s life insurance practice.

"Linda’s extensive industry experience will help Wells Fargo grow our life insurance business and continue to provide customers with the products and services they need to succeed financially," said Aton.
