W R Berkley has formed Verus Underwriting Managers, based in Richmond, Virginia, which will provide property and casualty excess and surplus lines coverages and will underwrite on behalf of W R Berkley member insurance companies.
According to W R Berkley, in conjunction with the formation of Verus, Dale Pilkington has been named as the president of Verus. He most recently served as president of the excess and surplus lines segment of a major insurer.
