Validus Holdings (Validus), a provider of reinsurance and insurance, has appointed Conan Ward as the CEO and Kean Driscoll as the Chief Underwriting Officer of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Validus Reinsurance (Validus Re).
Conan Ward and Kean Driscoll will be taking up new roles, effective immediately, subject to approval by the Bermuda Department of Immigration.
Conan Ward previously served as EVP and Chief Underwriting Officer of Validus Re since January 2006. He has over 17 years of insurance industry experience. Prior to joining Validus Re, he was EVP of the Global Reinsurance division of Axis Capital Holdings.
Prior to Mr. Ward’s appointment as CEO of Validus Re, Ed Noonan, chairman and CEO of Validus Holdings held the position.
Kean Driscoll previously served as EVP of Validus Re responsible for the North American property catastrophe reinsurance business. He has been with Validus Re since it was formed in December 2005. Mr. Driscoll has over 14 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, and was previously with Quanta Re and Zurich Re.
