New York-based USI Insurance Services has closed the acquisition Bluff Head Enterprises (BHE), a Rhode Island-based employee benefit consulting and brokerage firm.
Bluff Head Enterprises, established in 1992, is a family owned and operated business specializing in middle-market businesses.
As part of the acquisition, Samuel Slade, currently the president of BHE, has become the president of the employee benefits division of USI of Rhode Island.
USI’s Regional CEO for the New England Thomas Stiles said that this acquisition strengthens their position as one of the leading insurance brokerage firms in Rhode Island and one of the largest benefit insurance brokerage firms in the US.
BHE president and founder Samuel Slade said that the combination of their two strong employee benefit practices will enable them to offer their clients additional products and services.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
