United America Indemnity has hired Paul Brocklebank as the new senior vice president of underwriting for United National Group, one of United America's three US divisions.
The appointment is effective September 29, 2008. Mr Brocklebank will report directly to Scott Reynolds, president of United National Group.
Mr Brocklebank has most recently served as the chief underwriting officer of SJA Insurance Agency, an indirect subsidiary of Sompo Japan Insurance, where he was responsible for a comprehensive restructuring of insurance operations and for a $130 million commercial lines portfolio.
Mr Reynolds said: Paul’s extensive commercial lines insurance experience goes beyond his underwriting skills to include enterprise wide development of best practices, including corporate underwriting strategies, and collaboration with actuarial and state filing units. This breadth of knowledge will be beneficial to us as united national group grows and expands its product offerings.
