The Union Labor Life Insurance Company has appointed Joseph Linehan as its new vice president of investments. He will report to Gary Amelio, president of retirement services.

Mr Linehan was previously the vice president of private capital and securities, where he was responsible for the management of Union Labor Life Insurance Company’s (ULLICO) corporate investment portfolios.

As part of ULLICO’s expansion efforts in its retirement services division, Mr Linehan assumes responsibility for the oversight and management of the company’s sub-advised investment product portfolio. In addition, he will lead a team of resources serving the independent investment consultant community providing in-depth analysis and understanding for all of ULLICO’s investment products.

Joining ULLICO in 1984, Mr Linehan began his career as an underwriter in the group life and health unit. In 1986, he transitioned to the investment unit, holding a number of investment positions.

Mr Linehan is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in finance.

Mr Amelio said: Retirement Services is fortunate to have such a solid and seasoned professional as Joe, who could immediately step into this role with confidence and with a profound combined knowledge of ULLICO, the Taft-Hartley market, and the investment business.
