UK General Insurance, in partnership with Enterprise Insurance Company, has launched a lifestyle excess protect product that covers the excess for a customer’s motor, home and annual travel policies.

Commenting on the product, UK General schemes managing director Karen Beales said that the product is the next step in the company’s strategy to broaden the schemes product set in order to grow the schemes portfolio.

"Coming on top of our non-standard motor launch, lifestyle excess is a natural extension allowing our broker partners to cover all eventualities for their clients," Beales added.

The company is planning to launch a suite of excess protection products later in the summer of 2013, according to Beales.

Kelly McCann of UKGI, a compliance business of UK General, has been appointed as business development manager in the schemes team to support the product launch.

Earlier this year, both the companies partnered to launch a non-standard motor product.

Enterprise Insurance Company is the UK-based motor and general insurer. UK General manages a £65m gross written premium (GWP) property book.
