Travelers has launched a new mobile applications, Auto Accident Help for iPhone and Quick Connect for BlackBerry smartphones, to provide auto accident assistance for iPhone and BlackBerry smartphone users.

The company said that the customers will also have the advantage of starting the auto claim process directly through the iPhone application and the mobile Web site. Auto Accident Help is available at the iTunes store and Quick Connect is available on Travelers.com.

According to Travelers, integrating the online claim reporting into the new mobile applications is part of its ongoing mobile strategy, which began with the launch of the mobile web site in late November 2009.

Patrick Gee, SVP of personal insurance claims at Travelers, said: “Immediately after an accident, it is natural to feel unsure about what steps to take and we want to be there to help guide people through the process. Our new mobile applications allow us to do so by helping consumers with the necessary and important steps after an auto accident.”

Andrea Stalf, vice president of personal insurance marketing at Travelers, said: “It’s clear that mobile devices have become a necessity to many. These mobile applications are another example of how Travelers is staying in touch with consumers’ evolving demands.”
