Transamerica Retirement Services, a unit of Transamerica Financial Life Insurance Company, has appointed Charmaine Hughes as the new vice president of business development.
In her new role, Hughes will be responsible for enhancing the company’s distribution relationships with broker-dealer firms, and will report to Kelly Michel, SVP of institutional sales and business development.
Ms Hughes has around two decades of marketing, sales and management experience, including eight years in retirement product development. She joins the company from M&I Institutional Trust Services, where she was vice president and national director of emerging business retirement plan services.
Michel said that Charmaine’s diverse skill set and talents will complement the company’s team already in place, who focus on enhancing her firm’s relationships with the broker-dealer distribution partners.
