Towers Watson, a New York-based professional services firm, has appointed Conrad Lagasca as vice president in its reinsurance brokerage business.

As vice president, Lagasca will be responsible for working with Towers Watson’s key clients and potential clients in the western portion of the US on the strategic development of reinsurance programs, and improving those companies’ business performance.

Based in San Francisco, he will report to Hugo Kostelni, executive vice president of reinsurance brokerage.

Towers Watson said Lagasca will also support the continued expansion of the company’s professional liability practice.

Before joining Towers Watson, he was vice president at Willis Re, where he was involved in a variety of managerial and client services-related initiatives since 2001.

At Willis Re he was also responsible for the development of proposals and the negotiation of excess insurance, treaty and facultative reinsurance programs to the global market.

His experiences also include a variety of executive positions, including vice president of EW Blanch, an independent broker in the US.

Kostelni said his strategic vision and keen focus on the many issues in the market will benefit the clients as they do business in this extremely fluid environment.
