Tokio Marine Europe Insurance (TMEI) has appointed two new underwriters in an effort to further strengthen its UK team.

The company has hired Stuart Wolstenholme as Property and Liability senior underwriter at the London Underwriting Team, whereas Clark Gardiner joins as underwriter at its newly established Manchester-based Construction Team.

Prior to joining TMEI, Wolstenholme has worked with QBE and holds more than 12 years insurance expertise and knowledge in several niche areas, including media, which will help in development of new areas of the business.

Gardiner had spent the last five years underwriting construction risks at RSA.

TMEI executive operations officer Alastair Blundell said the appointments reflects the company’s continued commitment to expand its London and regional presence.

The Manchester team is scheduled to serve as a underwriting excellence centre for Construction insurance at TMEI’s London and regional operations.

TMEI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan-based Tokio Marine Holdings, which is engaged in underwriting property and casualty insurance, and related investment activities.
