Thomas Rutherfoord, a risk management and insurance brokerage firm, has appointed John Hamilton to its Atlanta office. Mr Hamilton will serve as senior vice president/division manager, providing direct oversight and responsibility for the growth of the Atlanta office.

Mr Hamilton is the former chairman and managing director of Wachovia Insurance Services (WIS) in Georgia. Prior to his position at WIS, he was chairman and CEO of Hamilton Dorsey Alston, which was purchased by Wachovia Insurance Services in 2001.
