The Hartford Financial Services Group has named John Wilcox as the new senior vice president of personal lines. He will report to Jonathan Bennett, executive vice president of personal and small business insurance, until the head of recently unveiled consumer markets organization is identified.

Mr Wilcox had joined The Hartford in October 2008 and has taken various responsibilities, including the recent position as senior vice president of strategic business development. Over the past several months, he worked closely with the office of the chairman in assessing the strategic assets of The Hartford and setting out direction of the company.

 

Prior to joining The Hartford, Mr Wilcox worked as a partner at McKinsey & Company where he provided consulting services to the insurance industry. Additionally, he held various roles at Hyperion Capital Management and Marsh & McLennan.

 

Mr Bennett, said: “John has demonstrated his superior leadership skills and deep business acumen in driving a number of strategic initiatives during this unprecedented time in our company. I’m excited to bring John’s industry experience and outstanding business insights to continue Personal Lines’ growth as a leader in consumer risk protection.”
