To help its agent partners address the risks of businesses

The Hanover Insurance Group, a property and casualty insurance company, has introduced an employment practices liability insurance (EPL) program to help its agent partners address various business risks.

The coverage is part of the company’s Hanover Professional Portfolio, a growing selection of professional and management liability products.

The specialised EPL solution offers coverage, pricing, underwriting expertise and value-added services for small-and-mid-sized businesses and organisations. It provides coverage for employment practices wrongful acts, including coverage for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, constructive discharge, termination, failure to hire and negligent supervision covering full and part time employees, temporary workers, committee members, directors and officers, trustees, committee members, as well leased or seasonal employees.

The essential coverages are prior acts, punitive or exemplary damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, personal injury, duty to defend, spousal claims, monetary and non-monetary claims and equal employment opportunity commission claims (or state equivalent).

The deductibles are available as low as $1,000 and limits are available up to $5 million.

Helen Savaiano, vice president, management liability of The Hanover, said: We are very pleased to add EPL to our growing suite of management and professional liability products. Our agent partners know that an increasing number of small and mid-sized businesses are falling prey to employment-related lawsuits. To help ensure proper financial protection for their clients, they need access to flexible, reliable coverage, like our EPL program, to protect them against risks that could put them out of business should they be sued.
