The Hanover Insurance Group, a provider of property and casualty insurance, has appointed Michael Lee as the new branch vice president of commercial lines at New Hampshire and Vermont markets.

In his new role, Mr Lee will be responsible to enhance the company’s business in these states by building partnerships with efficient independent agents, and by leveraging its new product mix to create opportunities for partner agents to meet their customers’ needs in their local markets.

Mr Lee will be based at the company’s Bedford, New Hampshire, office. He joins the company from Acadia Insurance Company, where he served as assistant vice president and branch manager for its commercial lines business in New Hampshire.

Previously, Mr Lee served as director of marketing for Manchester, New Hampshire, and Lowell, Massachusetts, offices of Hilb Rogal & Hobbs. Prior to that, he served in various underwriting and business development positions at Fireman’s Fund Insurance and Royal & Sun Alliance.

Richard Lavey, regional president of The Hanover’s Northeast Region, said: “His experience on both the carrier and agency sides of our business, together with his extensive knowledge of the New England market, will help our company and partner agents to compete and win together over the long term.”
