The Schinnerer Group, parent company of managing general underwriter Victor Schinnerer and Canadian managing general agent ENCON, has appointed Robert Byler as its new chief executive officer, effective from 21 May 2012.
In his new role, Byler will be responsible for driving innovation and growth at both Victor Schinnerer and ENCON, with a primary focus on US programme business.
Byler is currently serving as the president of program business for QBE North America and has also served as president and CEO of Amtrust Underwriters.
Byler said there is tremendous opportunity, especially in the US, to develop new programmes and to expand the company’s current offerings to meet the needs of the dynamic and changing business environment.
The Schinnerer Group president Jean Laurin said Byler’s expertise and experience in the US programme business, Schinnerer will be in an even better position to deliver industry-leading programme solutions to address the needs of the market.
Laurin will remain the president of the company and will continue to focus on expanding ENCON.
