The Hilb Group (THG) has acquired Maryland-based Southern Maryland Insurance, a transaction that became effective from 1 July this year.

SMI is primarily a property/casualty insurance agency offering coverages to businesses throughout the Mid-Atlantic area. Located in Bowie, MD, SMI’s managing director, Ken Wyvill and his associates will join THG’s Mid-Atlantic operations led by Rick Tepel.
