The Graham Company, an insurance and employee benefits broker, has opened a new office in Washington, DC.

The new office will allow The Graham Company to expand into the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area.

The new office, led by D.C. resident Ian Mitchell, will serve a variety of businesses with complex risk but will maintain a special focus on the firm’s core industries, including construction and health and human services.

With over 50 years of proven expertise in these industries, the firm is uniquely positioned to address challenging exposures such as safety, loss prevention, contractual risk transfer and clinical risk management.

By taking a more holistic approach to managing risk, clients in this region can better protect employees, lower expenses and ultimately better compete even in the most crowded marketplaces.

The Graham Company president and COO Kenneth L. Ewell said: “The Graham Company has established itself as one of the top 100 insurance brokerages in the United States because of its nontraditional risk management model that delivers continuous strategy and service on a daily basis throughout the year rather than just at renewal time like most other brokers.

“Our clients see us as an extension of their organization because we live and breathe the intricacies of their industry, and that means we can effectively manage even the most complex risks. In considering our expansion to the Washington metropolitan area, we recognized a clear demand for this approach and believe many of the region’s most respected businesses can benefit.”

The new Washington, D.C., office address is 1701 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20006, (202) 461-2220.
