Guidewire Software (GWRE), a provider of software products to Property/Casualty (P/C) insurers, today announced that Texas FAIR Plan Association (TFPA) has selected Guidewire Gateway Portal for Agents to meet the business demands of its agents.

Smart Communications, a division of Thunderhead and Guidewire PartnerConnect Solution and Ready for Guidewire program member, will provide its industry leading solution for customer and business communications.

"We are pleased that Texas FAIR Plan Association has extended its Guidewire selection to include Gateway Portal for Agents," said Steve Sherry, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales, Guidewire Software. "We applaud their commitment to agent experience, and are proud to partner with them on this effort."

The Texas FAIR Plan Association (TFPA) was created by an act of the Texas Legislature (Chapter 2211, Tex. Ins. Code) for the purpose of providing basic residential property insurance to applicants who cannot secure coverage in the voluntary market.

Although TFPA is considered a market of last resort, applications submitted for coverage are subject to underwriting guidelines for characteristics of ownership, condition, occupancy, maintenance, and liability exposure.

Properties owned/deeded in the name of a business (corporation, partnership, association, LLP, LLC, etc.) and vacant/unoccupied properties are not eligible for coverage with TFPA.

TFPA does not sell policies directly to the public and does not have agents of its own.
