Tesco Personal Finance has launched a private medical insurance plan for children.

It is reported that the new plan offers 25% off in the first year which costs GBP7.49 premium per month for the first child.

The policy, which is underwritten by AXA PPP healthcare, can provide access to private consultation if a child needs surgery and cannot be treated within six weeks on the National Health Service.

The new Tesco Child Health Plan will help give parents reassurance that they can find out what’s wrong with their child quickly with prompt access to diagnostic tests. There is no need for parents to cover themselves on this policy, and no annual maximum on claims. We are making health insurance available to a much wider range of consumers, Jeremy Sutton, head of Tesco Health Insurance, was quoted as saying.
