Sutherland Asbill & Brennan has appointed Ellen Dunn to serve its litigation group in New York as a part of firm’s continued insurance practice expansion.

Earlier, Dunn held services with Dewey & LeBoeuf’s US litigation practice as co-head and has 20 years of experience as life and property casualty insurers in litigation, regulatory investigations, administrative hearings and compliance matters.

Sutherland managing partner Mark Wasserman said Ellen will add further depth and breadth to insurance practice, which is nationally recognized for bringing deep industry knowledge to insurance regulation and litigation matters.

With internal investigations, policyholder and shareholder class actions, insurance insolvencies, complex contractual disputes and commercial arbitrations experience, Dunn represents insurers before state insurance departments.

Dunn also regularly represents investigations and inquiries by state attorneys general, particularly in connection with market conduct and other compliance issues.

Recently Sutherland named a group from Dewey & LeBoeuf to serve its insurance practice in New York.
