The US division of Sun Life Financial has appointed Melody Powell to the position of assistant vice president of diversity and inclusion.
Ms Powell will report to Bob Salipante, president of Sun Life Financial US, and Maura Machold, vice president of human resources.
As assistant vice president for diversity and inclusion of Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada (US), Ms Powell will be responsible for developing and implementing Sun Life’s diversity initiatives strategy.
Additionally, Ms Powell will research information to share across the enterprise on topics ranging from recruitment, retention and work-life issues to career development and educational practices.
Most recently, Ms Powell was vice president and head of global diversity for MasterCard Worldwide.
