Insurance and financial services organization Starr Companies has named Jeffrey Hayman as the new president of its international insurance operations.

In his new role, Hayman will oversee the overall growth, profitability, distribution, and product offerings outside the US.

He will report directly to Maurice Greenberg, chairman and chief executive officer of Starr Insurance Holdings, according to the insurer.

Commenting on the appointment of the new president, Greenberg said, "Jeff possesses a strong understanding of international business and his experience, particularly in Asia, is a unique fit for our organization."

Having more than 30 years of underwriting experience, Hayman has worked in the US as well as Asia, and is a director at both The Korea Society and The Japan Society.

Having presence in five continents, Starr Companies offers property, casualty, and accident & health insurance products as well as a range of specialty coverages including aviation, marine, energy and excess casualty insurance.
