Stadard Life has reported operating profit before tax of GBP881 million for the full-year period of 2007, an increase of 43% compared to GBP614 million in 2006.

Diluted operating earnings per share was 28.3 pence for the full-year period, an increase of 37% compared to 20.7 pence in 2006. IFRS underlying profit before tax was GBP714 million for fiscal 2007, up 32% compared to GBP540 million in fiscal 2006.

Sandy Crombie, chief executive, said: Standard Life has delivered a very strong set of results in its first full year as a listed company. We have beaten all our profitability and efficiency targets for 2007 and achieved record sales, a platform which we will build upon for further growth in years to come.
