Added new voluntary disability coverage and offers employer-funded benefit credits

The Simply Unum, a provider of group disability and life insurance coupled with voluntary benefits, has expanded its employee benefits platform. The company has added new voluntary disability coverage, and provides employer-funded Benefit Credits that allows employees apply for coverage with cost of their choice.

The company has said that with Benefit Credits, employers can offer a fixed dollar credit amount to employees, who then apply the credit to the coverage they choose.

Simply Unum said that the new voluntary disability coverage and Benefit Credits has been launched in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia. The company is expected to expand products nationally in 2010.
