Scottish Widows, a provider of life insurance and pension plans, has appointed Andy Barton as the director of employee benefits and direct distribution.
The role will give Mr Barton responsibility for setting up a brand new business channel, focused on large corporates and their advisors and employee benefits consultants. He will also be responsible for Scottish Widows direct distribution.
Mr Barton reports to Andy Briggs, managing director of marketing and distribution. Mr Barton joins from Aviva where he was director of corporate benefits of Norwich Union.
Mr Briggs said: I am delighted that Andy is joining our marketing and distribution division as we move into a new phase of growth. He has a strong track record and has demonstrated his success in distribution, strategy and proposition development at senior level.
