Scottish Life, the pensions specialist arm of Royal London Group, has appointed Keith MacPherson as the head of individual business, effective immediately.

The move, which sees Mr MacPherson take on overall responsibility for individual pensions, reflects Scottish Life’s strategy to grow and develop the area of the business through the UK independent intermediary market.

Reporting to Ewan Smith, group product development director, Mr MacPherson and his team will be responsible for the development and promotion of Scottish Life’s individual pensions proposition, including setting the development agenda for new and existing products as well as providing supporting literature and other tools for advisers and their clients. In addition Mr MacPherson is responsible for Scottish Life’s ebusiness proposition.

Prior to this appointment, Mr MacPherson was the ebusiness development manager of the group and has worked at Scottish Life for over 17 years. He joined the marketing department in 1998, where he was instrumental in the development and implementation of both the corporate and individual pension propositions. Before this, he worked in various positions within the customer services area.
