To cover the requirements of the 21% of the biking population in this age group

UK-based Insurer, Saga has introduced motorcycle insurance for people aged 50 or above to cover the requirements of the 21% of the biking population in this age group – reported myfinances.co.uk.

The new policy intends to cover against loss, theft or damage to motorcycles and a minimum of 60 days EU cover. The customers can also pay for additional cover for personal accident, legal expenses and helmet and leathers cover.

As per the company, motorcycling is big business amongst the 50 plus age group. Saga found that out of the 21% of bikers who were aged 50 plus, 700,000 owned a bike and a further one million had a desire to be a biker.

A quarter of the nation’s over-50s bikers stated that motorbikes offered a cheaper alternative to driving a car.

Andrew Goodsell, executive chairman of Saga, said: With more over-50s than ever before taking to the road, it’s a great indication that this age group is really embracing the idea of living life to the full, quoted myfinance.co.uk.
