Royal London, a mutual life and pensions company, has appointed Duncan Hanlon as group financial controller, reporting to Stephen Shone, group finance director.
Mr Hanlon will be responsible for Royal London Group financial and management reporting, financial control activity and the associated regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
Mr Hanlon joins Royal London Group from the Cheshire Building Society where he was interim group finance director. Prior to that he was finance director at ING Direct and his industry experience includes senior finance roles at Aviva, Charles Schwab Europe and Barclays Bank.
Mr Shone said: Duncan is a welcome addition to the team. His considerable experience of the financial services industry will prove invaluable as we continue to develop the group and its constituent businesses.
