Intends to employ 100 people within five years

Colorado car insurance firm, Rio National has planned to open an office in Lee’s Summit and intends to employ 100 people within five years – reported Kansascity.com.

The Group has leased 3,000 square feet in the Bank of the West building on Blue Parkway, to serve customers in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska.

Steve Kerbel, owner of Rio National, has stated that he plans to hire 20 to 25 people during the first year of operation.

The Kansas City Area Development Council assisted Lee’s Summit Economic Development Corporation in attracting Rio National to the area.

Tim Cowden, senior vice president for the council, said: “In a time of continued economic weakness, Rio National is yet another company that views KC as a region of greater certainty and predictability than others we regularly compete against.”

Rio National has an expertise in creating and managing insurance products distributed through independent agencies in the western and mid-western US, quoted Kansas City Star.
