Reinsurance Group of America has received approval from the China Insurance Regulatory Commission to open a representative office in China, its eighth location in the Asia Pacific region.

We are very pleased to receive approval for our representative office in China, said Graham Watson, CEO of RGA’s international operations. China is a vital and vibrant insurance marketplace. RGA, as one of the world’s leading life reinsures, has a lot to offer both local and international carriers in this market.

Watson believes China will become one of the world’s largest insurance markets and that the new office will enable RGA to take advantage of that growth. Furthermore, RGA’s CEO suggested that the China initiative will represent a key strategic component in RGA’s international business plan underscoring RGA’s view of the Asia Pacific region as pivotal in the success of its ongoing global expansion.
