Eric Pettigrew, who serves Washington's 37th legislative district, has joined the company as the director of community and business relations

Regence BlueShield, a US-based health insurer, has appointed Republican, Eric Pettigrew, who serves Washington’s 37th legislative district, as the company’s director of community and business relations, effective July 27.

Jonathan Hensley, president of Regence BlueShield, said: We’re pleased to welcome Republican, Pettigrew to the Regence family. His background in public service and insurance will be invaluable as we work to strengthen our relationships with businesses and community groups, and create a dialogue about important issues such as health reform.

Apart from his experience in the Washington State Legislature, Mr. Pettigrew has worked as the director of community affairs for Safeco Insurance, deputy chief of staff for public safety with the Seattle mayor’s office, and president of the Rainier Chamber of Commerce.
