RBC Insurance and Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation have introduced co-branded travel insurance product offerings through the Shoppers Drug Mart website, effective from 16 February.
Sold exclusively online, the travel insurance is the latest addition to the suite of co-branded products from the RBC and Shoppers Drug Mart alliance formed in early 2012.
Shoppers Drug Mart president and CEO Domenic Pilla said, "With the introduction of this co-branded travel insurance, with a trusted provider like RBC Insurance, we are strengthening our total travel offering and improving access and choice for our customers."
Travel insurance products including emergency travel medical, trip cancellation and interruption insurance will be available through the Shoppers Drug Mart website.
Around 39% of Canadians planning to travel outside of Canada within the next year, only 60% planning to purchase travel insurance for their upcoming trip, according to a RBC Insurance survey.
