QBE the Americas, a division of QBE Insurance Group, has appointed Dean Harring to the new position of US head of claims.
In this new role, Mr Harring will oversee the claims operations for QBE specialty, QBE the Americas’ insurance partnership division; QBE regional, the company’s regional insurance division that includes general casualty, Unigard, FARMERS UNION INSURANCE and QBE agri insurance; and QBE reinsurance.
Mr Harring assumes management responsibilities for the overall claims operations of QBE the Americas and will create uniform standards and facilitate communication between its individual claims units.
Mr Harring joins QBE the Americas from GAB Robins North America where he served as executive vice president, chief claims officer and COO for the past two years.
Peter Maloney, chief legal officer of QBE the Americas, said: Dean joins QBE with a solid track record in claims and litigation management and significant expertise in orchestrating operational success stories. The leadership and insight he brings from working in property casualty companies of all sizes and varied environments will help QBE the Americas continue to prosper.
