QBE North America has entered into a program underwriting agreement with managing general underwriter (MGU) RPS/Plus Companies to offer professional liability coverage to insurance agents and brokers.

The insurance companies of QBE North America will provide the professional liability coverage on both an admitted and non-admitted basis.

QBE North America specialty programs senior vice president Donald Allard said: "We are pleased to join forces with RPS/Plus Companies and its experienced Professional Liability Insurance Programs practice, as this provides us with new opportunities to expand our business and bring QBE Specialty Lines’ innovative solutions to the insurance market."

Part of QBE Specialty, the Specialty Programs unit collaborates with MGA/MGU program administrators to underwrite risks for different industry sectors, comprising of accident and health, aviation, public company and private company.

Other industry sectors include commercial errors and omissions, transactional liability, trade credit, surety, and inland marine risk. The partnership formed will underwrite for appointed retail and wholesale producers.

RPS/Plus Companies area president Robert Ciuffreda said: "Our relationship with QBE North America’s Specialty Lines business provides us with new opportunities to expand our leading commercial insurance programs."

RPS/Plus Companies provides coverages such as disciplinary actions, loss of earnings, and pre-claims assistance to small to mid-size agencies, as well as larger P&C agencies.
