The Prairie State Insurance Cooperative (PSIC) has appointed Julie Ann Fuchs and Thomas Akers to its Executive Committee board, making a total of nine board members.

Prior to the joining in PSIC, Ann Fuchs served Kaneland Community Unit School District as assistant superintendent for business for the past three years and a PSIC member district since 2009.

Akers worked as superintendent at Cambridge Consolidated Unit School District since last five years. He has 20 years experience in education as a principal in Rock Falls.

The board expansion was in line with the goals set out by the PSIC board once it reached the 100-district-member benchmark, which occurred in September 2011.

Associated Risk Managers (ARM) of Illinois, which handles marketing efforts of the program marketing director Robert Pegg said that the goal was to make the group as representative as possible, including small districts, larger districts, rural, urban and to represent the geographic differences of having school districts in northern, central and southern Illinois.
