Expansion would result in hiring of approximately 50 people

Prudential Financial’s Group Insurance business has opened a disability management services branch in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The office expands the company’s operations for both absence management and short-term disability services and is expected to be operational by January 2010, according to Lori High, president of Prudential’s Group Insurance Business.

According to the company, this expansion will result in the hiring of approximately 50 employees. The office will be co-located with Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services. The company currently has disability management offices in Portland, Maine and Roseland, New Jersey.

Ms. High said: “Opening this office in the west highlights our commitment to our disability product and service offering—and our desire to enhance the service we offer to our midwest and west-coast customers. Scottsdale offers a talented pool of people well suited to the needs of our growing disability operation.

“Prudential’s committed to helping companies provide disability solutions to their employees. The demand for Pru1SolutionSM—our portfolio of disability products and absence management services — was a key driver behind our decision to expand. We offer leave management with our short- and long-term disability products and services to provide a single, seamless solution to meet our customers’ needs.”
