Prudential Financial has appointed Robert Fishbein, current vice president and corporate counsel, as chair of the committee of annuity insurers. Fishbein has been serving as vice chair of the committee since March of 2010.

In his role as Chair, Fishbein will work with the committee to develop federal policies regarding annuities.

In his role at Prudential, he will provides tax law guidance with respect to the development, marketing, sale and administration of life insurance, annuity, long-term care insurance, disability insurance and mutual fund products.

Fishbein has been an active participant in the committee for more than 10 years, and has over 20 years of industry experience.

Prior to joining Prudential in March of 1997, he was associated with McCarter & English in Newark, New Jersey and specialized in tax and estate planning matters.

The committee of annuity insurers is a coalition of 32 of the issuers of annuity contracts in the nation and was formed in 1982 to address Federal legislative and regulatory issues relevant to the annuity industry.
