ProSight Specialty Insurance has appointed three new underwriting leaders to its London-based ProSight Specialty Underwriters unit to include the Entertainment, Marine Cargo, and Professional Liability lines of business.

The firm has appointed three underwriters as a part of its Growth Plan and also plans to move to new offices in the London Underwriting Centre at 1 Minster Court in mid-March 2012.

ProSight has appointed Julie Abbott as a Film and Entertainment underwriter and will be responsible for complementing Centre of Expertise based in Glendale, California, as well as developing an international book of business from a Lloyd’s platform.

Julie served Media and Entertainment at Travelers Insurance as a contingency practice leader and also held various positions at Royal Sun Alliance.

The company also appointed Linda Dias as Cargo Underwriter and will lead the development of a new standalone book of international Cargo and Specie business while working alongside the existing Engineering and Power underwriters to underwrite complementary risks such as Project Cargo.

Prior to joining ProSight, Linda served Commercial Union, HSBC, Marsh and Willis in London, Antwerp and Hong Kong and has 25 years of Marine Insurance experience on both the underwriting and brokerage side.

ProSight has also appointed Ed Skoch as a professional liability executive for ProSight Specialty Insurance, which is relocating from New York to London.

Skoch will lead the development of ProSight’s international professional liability business and will continue to have product line oversight for Professional Liability globally.

Skoch served NY Magic, acquired by ProSight in November 2010 as a chief underwriting officer for non-Marine lines.
