The ProMutual Group, a provider of medical liability insurance, has promoted Donna Miele-Cesario as new chief information officer.

In her new capacity, Miele-Cesario will lead the development, acquisition and implementation of advanced technologies and systems for the entire ProMutual Group enterprise.

Her new role broadens the scope to all ProMutual Group member companies including ProMutual, ProSelect and recently acquired FinCor Holdings and subsidiaries MHA Insurance, Washington Casualty and the Risk Management and Patient Safety Institute.

Previous to this role, Miele-Cesario was the company’s vice president of Information Technology (IT), and led the voice and data technology service, the overall strategy for technology development and integration and the daily operations of the IT department for member companies Medical Professional Mutual Insurance and ProSelect Insurance.

From 1979 to 1989, Miele-Cesario worked in the claims department as both a claims representative and a claims supervisor before taking over the implementation of company-wide information technology services as manager of information systems.

ProMutual Group chief operating officer Gregg Hanson said her expertise will continue to play an instrumental role in the growth, diversification and integration of the company as a whole.
