Birmingham-based insurance provider, ProAssurance will open two new claims and underwriting processing centres to accommodate future growth and expansion and also enhance to customer service in June 2012.

According to the company, one centre will be based at its Birmingham headquarters and another at its office in Okemos, Michigan, US.

The company said no jobs would be eliminated and all employees affected by the transition will be offered jobs at the new centres which will employ approximately 80 persons.

ProAssurance chairman and CEO Stancil Starnes said the company is confident that the plan enhance their processing capabilities and also benefit their agents and insurers by bringing employees together to share ideas, collaborate on solving problems and communicate best practices.

Once opened, ProAssurance will transition processing functions performed at outlying offices to the new centres over an 18-month period.
