Premier's healthcare alliance has selected Beazley as the preferred cyber liability insurer for its clients, which include more than 2,700 US hospitals and 90,000 healthcare sites.
The firm’s subsidiary, Premier Insurance Management Services (PIMS) will now offer Beazley’s flagship product, Breach Response, to health care customers.
PIMS Sales & Marketing vice president Tom Green said the company is honored to offer the new cyber liability protection, as the data breaches may lead to severe reputational and financial damage.
”It provides both the risk management tools and resources to help prevent a breach, and the necessary services should a breach occur," Green added.
Beazley Technology, Media and Business Services team head Mike Donovan said, ”If not handled properly, a breach involving personally identifiable data can seriously damage a hospital’s reputation."
Breach Response is a complete privacy breach response management and information security insurance product designed to address the requirements of healthcare organizations, higher education, retail, and hospitality businesses.
The product provides coverage for breaches, including notification and credit monitoring that affect up to 5,000,000 individuals.
Beazley is a risk insurance and reinsurance company operating through Lloyds syndicates, with operations across Europe, US, Asia and Australia.
