US-based Premera Blue Cross has partnered with Symetra Life Insurance to provide a wide range of life and disability products to employer groups.

As part of the deal, Premera will also incorporate Symetra’s integrated disability offerings into its own employee benefit package.

Symetra will offer group life, including accidental death and dismemberment, short and long term disability, and managed absence programs, under the collaboration.

Premera Blue Cross executive vice-president and chief marketing executive Jim Messina said: "We are committed to offering our employees and our customers enhanced product offerings, including high-value integrated benefits solutions."

The local collaboration will offer a specific set of group benefit solutions for Pacific Northwest employers, noted Symetra.

Symetra Life Insurance provides employee benefits, annuities and life insurance services through a network of benefit consultants, financial institutions, and independent agents and advisors.
