Cigna Insurance Services has reached an affinity partnership with P&O ferries to deliver a white-label travel insurance service for its customers.

According to the company, the first phase of the offerings was introduced in November 2013.

The new products and services comprise single and annual multi-trip cover and protection for elderly people and people with pre-existing medical conditions.

Additionally, both companies have agreed to collaborate to unveil digital services for P&O customers.

Cigna UK commercial director Mathew Shepherd was quoted by the Post Online as saying, "We are delighted to have this opportunity to work in partnership with P&O Ferries – we believe our extensive experience of white-label insurance will enable them to substantially boost revenues from insurance products and services, while simultaneously building closer and deeper relationships with customers.

"Travel insurance is a natural extension for P&O Ferries’ customer proposition and the experience we have gained, as we have become a top five provider of this cover, will enable us to help them achieve their ambition to substantially grow this area of the business."
