The PMA Insurance Group has promoted Charles Elia as vice president of information systems unit. Mr Elia will be responsible for leading strategic and tactical direction of PMA's information processing environment, including PMA's data center operations and personnel, system programmers, network administrators, database administrators, PC support personnel and PMA's helpdesk.
Mr Elia’s responsibilities also include enterprise-wide hardware and software procurement, budget preparation, business continuity planning, and technology partner vendor selection and management. Mr Elia was previously PMA’s assistant vice president for information systems division. Prior to joining PMA, he was with Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Company for 22 years, where he held positions of increasing responsibility in the information systems area.
