Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY) has appointed Christopher Maguire and Sean Sweeney to the position of co-presidents.

Mr Maguire has joined the company in 1987 and has managed the operations and production within the underwriting department.

In his new role, Mr Maguire as co-president and chief operating officer, will be responsible for the operational oversight of all departments with a continued focus on building a leadership framework focused on strategic alignment.

Most recently, Mr Maguire has served as chief operating officer, his focus became building a franchise and creating alignment within each of the functional areas.

In his new position, Mr Sweeney as co-president and chief marketing officer, will maintain oversight of the sales and marketing organization and Valley Forge Insurance Brokerage. He will also assist with training and development and lead the Tokio Marine Group’s initiative to promote resource sharing among its subsidiaries.

Most recently, Mr Sweeney as EVP and chief marketing officer, has focused on developing new and creative ways to grow the business organically, by acquisition and through product development.
