Peerless Insurance, part of Liberty Mutual Agency, has appointed Robert Rooney as new regional vice president for New Hampshire-Vermont region.
In this role, Rooney will be responsible for growth of commercial lines business and to maintain strong agency relations in the region.
Based in the company’s home office in Keene, Rooney will manage a staff of nearly fifty employees and oversee marketing, underwriting, and policy administration operations in these states.
Rooney has been with Peerless for over 22 years. He served as surety manager for New York and New Jersey, territory manager in the Syracuse, New York region, and was named vice president, marketing, in June 2004.
Carl Canales has been appointed to succeed Rooney as vice president of marketing. Previously, Canales was associated with Colorado Casualty, also a Liberty Mutual Agency regional company.
As marketing vice president, Canales will be responsible for Peerless’ agency distribution management, administration of agent incentive plans, and overall marketing strategy for the company’s eight-state territory.
Canales has been a marketing consultant with Colorado Casualty since July 2008. He joined the company in May 2004 as a territory manager.
Rooney and Canales will report to Michael Christiansen, president and CEO of Peerless Insurance.
