Patriot National Insurance names new president of underwriting unit

Workers' compensation insurance solutions provider Patriot National Insurance has appointed John Rearer as president of its underwriting unit.

In his new role, Rearer will oversee Patriot National’s Managing General Agency, Program Administration, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).

Commenting on the appointment, Patriot National Insurance Group chief executive officer Steven Mariano said, "John’s extensive background in sales, underwriting and operations make him ideally suited to lead Patriot Underwriters as it develops into a premier Managing General Agency."

Prior to this new role, Rearer was serving as the group’s regional vice president for the Western Region. Before joining Patriot National, he was the vice president at Preferred Employers Group.

Patriot Underwriters produces, underwrites and administers alternative market and traditional workers’ compensation insurance plans for insurance companies, segregated cell captives and reinsurers.
