The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance has appointed Joann Eisenhart as vice president for human resources and executive officer, succeeding Susan Lueger, who retired from the company in July 2010.

Eisenhart previously served as senior vice president – human resources with Pfizer, a biopharmaceutical company, leading site-based HR generalist teams and shared service centers that support more than 100,000 employees worldwide.

Prior to joining Pfizer, she served in numerous human resources and scientific leadership roles over a 16-year career with Rohm and Haas Co.

Northwestern Mutual chairman and CEO John Schlifske said attracting, developing and retaining top talent is key to continued success, and with Jo’s sound leadership, the company is well-positioned for the future.

"Jo’s great depth and breadth of experience across every aspect of the human resources profession will help Northwestern Mutual further strengthen its reputation as an excellent place to launch and grow a career," Schlifske said.

Northwestern Mutual and its subsidiaries offer life insurance, long-term care insurance, disability insurance, annuities, investment products, and advisory products and services.
